Some of the best ideas don't happen in a board room. They happen on a hot, humid Georgia tennis court.
Long before we were business partners, we were friends — for well over a decade now, we've been best friends, tennis partners, travel buddies, and each other's biggest cheerleaders. Funny enough, our stories have always run parallel. We both married young, spent years traveling the world with our husbands before having children, and we both had the unique experience of living abroad. We've raised families, explored the world, and if there's a racquet sport to try, chances are we've already signed up. Tennis led to pickleball, pickleball led to padel, and every single match ended exactly the same way: completely soaking wet.
Sweating it out on courts of Atlanta led to rides home sitting on a towel — trying to protect ourselves from our hot car seats, and our car seats from the moisture, sunscreen, and salt of our sweat. Our post-match tradition was lunch (something we take very seriously), but the only problem was constantly having to drag a towel along...with us to sit on. It became such a normal part of our routine that we stopped questioning it. Until one day, we did.
Sure: we could have just kept using a towel. But it kept sliding around, falling down, and leaving the back of the seat unprotected. We wanted something simple — no hooks, snaps, buttons, straps, buckles, or worse, the time-consuming need to remove the headrest just to sit comfortably for the ride home.
Why wasn't there something made to protect expensive car seats after a "sweat session"? Something functional enough to absorb "the sweaty ass," but attractive enough that you didn't mind leaving it in your car. That simple question turned into Sweaty Ass Towels.
In July 2023, we created our first prototype and sent it out into the world the best way we knew how: on a 17-day, cross-country road trip with our kids, on their way to visit seven National Parks in the peak of summer heat. Here's the text we got from Pam's daughter on July 14, 2023, from Moab, Utah:
That was the moment we knew this wasn't just a cute idea — it was a useful, practical, functional product. And not just for tennis players. For every one that sweats, in every sport.
Today, whether we're playing tennis, pickleball, or padel, whether we're heading to the beach, stuck in the mud, or caught in the rain, our mission is simple: help people protect what they sit on, without taking themselves too seriously.
Life gets messy. Your car doesn't have to.
